Description:
The SUU PREP program is seeking dedicated and dynamic teachers to deliver engaging and rigorous instruction in STEM-focused classes for upcoming 7th-9th grade students. Teachers will lead three 70-minute classes Monday–Thursday, with the support of a Classroom Assistant for each session. Teachers will also provide supervision during Career Awareness Seminars, special activities, and Friday Field Trips.
Responsibilities include
Developing and delivering lesson plans from the PREP curriculum, preparing and grading assessments, and determining student grades. Teachers will supervise students during Career Awareness Seminars, special activities, and field trips. Collaboration with Classroom Assistants, participation in staff meetings and training, and maintaining alignment with SUU PREP objectives are essential.

Responsibilities
Teach three 70 minute classes Monday-Thursday throughout the program. Each instructor will have 1 Classroom Assistants for each class.
Supervise Students during Career Awareness Seminars and special activities related to the academic components of the program..
Supervise students during Friday field trips
Formulate lesson plans from the PREP curriculum provided after hiring and during staff orientation, aligning them with SUU PREP objectives and philosophy, while collaborating daily with Program Classroom Assistants to develop and coordinate lesson plans and educational support activities for effective instruction.
Prepare and grade quizzes, tests, final examinations and other instruments based on PREP-USA curricula.
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and/or planning sessions as needed
Determine grades for students enrolled in their classes.
Perform other duties as assigned by Site Directors or Program Coordinators.
Qualifications:
- Passion for STEM, creative disciplines, and working with 7th-9th grade students.
- Prior teaching or instructional experience is preferred.
- Ability to supervise and collaborate effectively with classroom assistants and volunteers.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
